In 2026, Copenhagen will host the half marathon World Championships, and in 2027 CPH Half will return stronger than ever.
2026
In 2026, the World Athletics Road Running Championships come to Copenhagen, featuring the World Championships in the half marathon, 5 km, and one mile distances.
The half marathon World Championship will be held on Sunday, 20 September 2026, while the World Championships in the two shorter distances will take place on Saturday, 19 September.
All entries for the half marathon distance were sold out through a lottery earlier this year, but it is still possible to purchase an entry for the 5 km and one mile.
Later in 2025 or in early 2026, a resale portal will be launched to ensure secure buying and selling of World Championship bib numbers.

The Copenhagen Half Marathon will return stronger than ever in September 2027.
We expect to open registration approximately one year in advance.
