Favorite Bedan Karoki Muchiri dominated amoungst the men while Purity Cherotich Rionoripo emerged victorious as the fastest woman.

Favorite Bedan Karoki Munciri (KEN) won the day and is the first winner of Copenhagen Half Marathon setting a personal best with a finish time of 59:14. 2nd and 3rd finishers were Alex Oloitiptip Korio (KEN) and Edwin Kipyego (KEN) respectively.

Despite dark ominous clouds and rain the winner was happy with the race.

The weather actually wasn’t that bad. The wind was a factor but the temperature was perfect. I’m very happy to get a personal best and had my competitors been better i could have finish in under 59 minuttes said Karoki.

Just after the 14k mark the 25 year old kenyan picked up the pace and left his rivals behind.

Just as the men, the womens race quickly showed itself to be a race of the africans. Purity Rionoripo (KEN) took the lead early and did not let go, finishing 18 secs before Etheopian Asefa.
