On Sunday 19 September 2027, 45,000 runners will take over the streets of Copenhagen for Copenhagen Half Marathon.

Do you want to be one of them? Your way to the start line begins with the CPH Half 2027 lottery.

The lottery is open from 16–30 September 2026. It is free to enter, and this is where your chance of securing an entry to CPH Half 2027 begins.

Registering for the lottery does not guarantee you an entry.

Register for the lottery between 16–30 September, either individually or as a group of up to 3 people. You can only register for the lottery once. You can read more about group registration further down the page.

Wait for the draw

Once the lottery closes, we will conduct a draw among everyone who has registered. This will determine who gets the opportunity to purchase an entry to CPH Half 2027.

Keep an eye on your inbox from 5 October

From 5 October, we will begin contacting runners who have been drawn. If you registered as part of a group, each group member will receive their own email and must complete their registration individually. Remember to check your spam folder too.

From the moment the email reaches your inbox, you have 48 hours to complete your registration and purchase your entry for DKK 795 + a 5% administration fee.

Want to take on Copenhagen with friends?

You can register for the lottery as a group of up to 3 people. Only one person needs to register the entire group.

You can only be registered for the lottery once. If you are part of a group, you cannot also register individually or as part of another group.

If your group is drawn, each group member will receive their own email with a link to complete their registration. It is then up to each group member whether they want to use the opportunity to purchase an entry. If one person in the group no longer wants or is unable to take part, the other group members can still complete their registrations.

The emails may not arrive at the same time, so don’t worry if someone else in your group hears from us before you do.

Why a lottery?

Interest in CPH Half is high. That is why we allocate entries to CPH Half through a lottery, giving all runners a fair chance.

It is free to enter, and entries are allocated through a random draw among everyone who has registered.

Copenhagen is not the only half marathon with a lottery. The other races in the SuperHalfs series also use lotteries, making it a familiar route to the start line for runners around the world.

As entries are personal and cannot be transferred or resold, there is no legitimate private market for CPH Half 2027 entries. If someone offers to sell you an entry, it cannot be transferred to you and is therefore not valid.

Your entry is personal

If you are drawn and complete your registration, your CPH Half entry is personal. It cannot be transferred, sold, or given to another runner.

There will be no Resale Platform for CPH Half 2027. This also means that entries cannot be bought or sold between individuals. If someone offers to sell you an entry to CPH Half 2027, it is not a valid entry that can be transferred to you.

Instead, you will have the option to purchase insurance through Refundable.me when completing your registration.

  • When you register for the lottery, you complete your participant registration, just without making a payment. You will be asked to provide information, including your:

    • name
    • date of birth
    • email address
    • expected finish time.

    All information must be correct. Your full name must match the name on your valid photo ID. This also applies to every participant if you register as a group.

  • Yes. You can register individually or as a group of up to 3 people.

    If you register as a group, you will either be drawn together or not drawn at all. That does not mean you have to run the 21.0975 kilometres together.

    Each person can still only register for the lottery once.

The draw and results

  • No. The draw is completely random, and everyone who registers during the lottery period has the same chance.

    It makes no difference whether you register on 16 or 30 September.

  • We will begin contacting the first runners drawn from 5 October 2026.

    If you are drawn, you will receive an email with a personal link to complete your registration and purchase your entry.

    Keep an eye on your inbox, and remember to check your spam folder too.

  • As long as you have not received a rejection, you are still in the lottery and still have a chance of being drawn.

    If an entry becomes available because another runner who has been drawn does not complete their registration, it will be randomly offered to another runner who is still in the lottery.

    So keep an eye on your inbox.

  • If you do not complete your registration within 48 hours, your opportunity to purchase the entry expires and your name is removed from the lottery.

    The entry will then be randomly offered to another runner who is still in the lottery.

Insurance and Resale Platform

  • No. Your CPH Half 2027 entry is personal and cannot be transferred, sold or given to another runner.

    There will therefore be no Resale Platform for CPH Half 2027. Instead, you will have the option to purchase insurance through Refundable.me when completing your registration.
