Not among the pre-favourites for the win, Brihane Dibaba of Ethiopia took a surpring win at the CPH Half.

Prior to Sunday’s race, Dorcas Tuitoek and Tabitha Wambui were top favourites of the women’s race. However, as it turned out, none of those two crossed the finish line first.

Instead Brihane Dibaba Adugna of Ethiopia took the win as she crossed the finish line in 65:57 minutes, lowering her own personal best by almost 2 minutes and setting the 8th fastest time over the half marathon distance this year.

Standing on the top podium is not all new to Adugna, as she is a previous winner of the Tokyo Marathon.

In 25 seconds after the winner, Evaline Chirchir of Kenya took the second place in 66:22, which was also a new personal best, while Dorcas Tuitoek took third place.
