Become a half marathon volunteer

Together we will create the best possible environment for the thousands of Danish and international runners and spectators who come to Copenhagen every year for a fantastic and unforgettable running experience with the Copenhagen Half Marathon. Making it happen requires hundreds of volunteers over the days of the event.

We already work with many sports clubs and associations whose members and parents volunteer to provide financial support for their club. In addition, there are also many volunteers who volunteer on their own or with their friends and family to have a fun and different day.

As a thank you for your help, you’ll receive a nice crew jacket and refreshments while you work. Most importantly, you’ll have a fun and enjoyable experience and get to know new people, while experiencing first-hand how a big event like the Copenhagen Half Marathon works behind the scenes.

Tasks your club can help with
At the Expo
  • Distribution of start numbers
  • Distribution T-shirts
On the course
  • Lead the way for the many runners
  • Stand at refreshment stations and hand out energy, water etc. to the runners
In the start and finish area
  • Handing out medals
  • Help with photography
  • Handing out liquids or other refreshments
Payment – from sports back to community life

As a CVR-registered club/association, you get DKK 100 per hour per volunteer you provide.

This gives your club/association the opportunity to earn extra funds through these events. Funds that many of our good, regular groups use for e.g. training camps, new training tools or equipment that is needed.

At the same time, it’s a great opportunity to create good relationships in the association environment that extend beyond the volunteer work at events. Inspiration and networking are some of the things that are mutually beneficial for both us and the clubs/associations that help out at our events.
